about Roger

Physiotherapist

I grew up in Holywood, (N. Ireland) before moving to Edinburgh, Scotland, graduating from Queen Margaret University in 2011 with an Honours Degree in Physiotherapy. After completing general hospital rotations, in 2016 I obtained a Specialist Physiotherapist post in Orthopaedics at Glasgow Royal Infirmary. Since then, I have gained an extensive and varied experience across busy trauma and elective orthopaedic wards, developing a sub-specialist interest in Limb Reconstruction. Being passionate about this speciality and keen to develop my expertise, I have attended courses, training days and national conferences including BLRS 2024 and more recently I presented at ANZLRS 2025.

I moved to Brisbane with my wife and two kids in July 2024 – keen for a break from UK life, with adventure and fresh work opportunities awaiting us. We are thoroughly enjoying our time here so far; the beach, cycling, running and slowly exploring this beautiful country.

As a keen sportsperson growing up, I played school, university and club rugby as well as enjoying golf and athletics. Exposure to the management of sports related injuries, fuelled my interest in studying physiotherapy. Over recent years, I have enjoyed cycling and running, undertaking numerous events, including two marathons. I am currently training to run Gold Coast Marathon 2025.

In joining the team at Chermside Sports & Rehab, I bring vast experience in the pre and post operative management of patients undergoing orthopaedic and limb reconstruction surgeries. I am excited to help develop this new service, using these excellent facilities to optimise clients’ return to function and sport.
